Perez actually calls us extra early and believe me that answer woke everyone up!!!

Maria is chatting away on the phone with her mom right next to me (blah, blah, blah) Let me ask her who she thinks is going to win Idol….Ahh, she doesn’t watch. She only knows Syesha got the boot. I’m rooting for David Archuleta, Mark Nieto is going for David Cook. I smell an on air bet! Stay tuned…..

I’m so excited Maria is coming over to the “Casa De Baltazar” tonight. We are judging the Tri Valley High School Improv Tournament at Tommy T’s in Pleasanton. Maria has never been over to my crib, believe me it is no MTV Cribs episode so I will spare you from the “this is where the magic happens” line. I’m a bit of a neat freak without being anal about it. I’m sure Maria will give you the “behind the scenes” tomorrow morning.

We had so many things going on today, I didn’t get a chance to catch my breath until 9 with the show nearly over. Did you catch the Love Trap? Melinda needs to stop thinking and hyper analyzing about the Bachelor party for her now husband Drew. (catch podcast) Maria breaks out into her Phoebe stripper/ I’m sorry, her exotic dancer routine. Mark Nieto and I are convinced Maria has worked in some kind of “adult” type occupation. She is too good in her “naughty” voice. LOL

If you are single, I would love for you to come out Thursday to my Little Penguins Wine tasting/speed dating party at Gravity (Scott and Lombard in the Marina, SF). I think you can figure out in 8 minutes if you like someone to at least go out on a real date. Let’s hook it up Thursday night!

It has been a rough week for me dealing with this Mariah’s married to Nick Cannon  story and now even more disturbing news.Mariah has “Mrs.Cannon” tattooed on her @$#…..This is very troubling, in fact it has me more concerned than the economy. LOL

For a second you were taking me seriously..LOL

Maria and I are doing our blogs before we head out to our office party in Fremont. It is a race to the finish. Greg Behrendt (author of the book “He’s not that into you”) always has great incite into relationships. Today’s advice? Keep your shiznet to yourself on the first date. Nobody wants to hear your life story the very first time out. I had a date open up her purse full of “herbal” remedies on our first date (and last) She was a little LOCA!

Alright I’m not one to say “I told you so”(well maybe I am..LOL) But both Maria and Chunk did a double take when I told them I had booked Ace Young from season Five of American Idol (Daughtry,Hicks,Yamin). They were like ”what’s he going to do?”..”You must doing a favor” Ahh NO! My boy in Beantown told me that Ace would rock our world and “you should book him for the show (thank you Big Daddy!) Ace not only rocked this morning but I have never seen Maria so “excited” LOL. So here it goes…. “I told you so”!!!  And to be fair, even a broken clock is right twice a day! LOL

The old clich’e “You play, you pay” fits for today. Cinco de Mayo at Pedro’s was off the hook. The morning was just off..LOL Oh, it’s not as bad as I make it out to be. LOL

Maria and I are at a point in the show were we are trying to shake things up for you. With that comes taking chances. Like this morning where we got out of our comfort zone and changed up our “standard” American Idol interview with Brooke White (check podcast) The result wasn’t exactly a homerun. Bad interviews, less than up to par features, etc used to upset me and I would dwell on it all day. Now I have learned that we could only learn from our mistakes and not repeat them. It is very hard for me but I tend to dwell on the negative. We could have had a great show and still I would nick pick a certain feature. Like I’m doing right now..LOL..I’ll be ok, the bright side to our Brooke White interview is that it happened at 6:30 and you were probably asleep..LOL The rest of the show was slammin!

I will come out and say that I was a bit concerned with the “perception” of Perez Hilton. “he is high maintenance” blah..blah…blah. After two days I’m ecstatic about having him on at 6 and 8 a.m. for his gossip. (check podcast) Please tell a friend and spread the word about him!!

Big shout out to everyone who came out to Pedro’s, I had such a nice time talking to you and hanging with you party peeps!

I think I’m going to start a “shave or don’t shave” vote on the website for my mustache and goatee. I want to do it but so many people(women) say that it looks good on me. Hmmm..what  do you think? If I had to make a list of favorite in studio guest we’ve had since Maria and I have been on Movin,  it would have comedian Mark Curry close or if not at the top! He’s in SJ at the Improv this weekend and I recommend you go see him. As funny as he is a good guy, he is open and candid. His story about running into Madonna back in the day was rated PG compared to the of air version. LOL Put him in with Bill Bellamy and Gabriel Iglesias as my favorites…

You got check out today’s Love Trap (podcast) Gabbie and Rachael do a tag team on Adam from Livermore. His reaction to getting caught is priceless. I’m not going to give it away, but the call this morning calling him a “Livermoron” was accurate!

FYI, Maria just told me that the JLove Show will be live on Cinco de Mayo from Pedro’s Mexican restaurant in Santa Clara. Yeah! We are crashing that party! Come by to say hello and have a nice cold beverage. Maria and I would love to meet you! That is Monday after 3 p.m.

The jury is still out on whether Tina from today’s Love Trap is right on her assumption that her dad is dating a “gold digger”.(check podcast) You should of heard Maria’s commentary off the air about how she would be ok with being someone’s “brown sugar” for an easy life. LOL..I know she is just joking but hmmmmm? If a woman would offer to “take care of me” in exchange for companionship would I do it? Oh I the hell not! LOL I’m joking too!

I was talking to Maria and Chunk about really flipping the script on the scheduled interview with politician Newt Gingrich tomorrow. I’m expecting a boring interview unless we have Ben Dejo (from the Baltbusters) ask Newt some questions from the Mexican/American perspective.LOL It sounds funny on paper, we’ll see if we can pull it off tomorrow.

We got to do something with the American Idol interviews that we get every week. They are not as intriguing as our other stuff for the fact that the people of Idol won’t let them answer honestly. For example, who are you rooting for now that you are off the show? Standard answer”…Oh…….I don’t know……..they are all great singers” BORING!! Stay tuned, we are flipping the script.

Ahh yeah my Maria is back! Even better her dad is not so bad shape. Thank you Diana in Fremont for starting the online prayer that resulted in 30,000 hits! You are the best! I kiddingly told Diana to start a prayer line for my love life. LOL

I seem to have a knack for attracting the  ”locas”. I had super first date with a girl (gorgeous) only to have it fizzle on the second (too much drama) I mean when someone talks openly about their drama, it is not a good sign. I kept on looking for the camera and Ashton Kutcher to run out and tell me I was getting “Punk”d.  God has too much fun at my expense.

Speaking of drama that annonymous email about finding an other woman’s  tampon at the boyfriend’s house got a ton of calls. They have only been going out for a month and had not had the “exclusive” talk. I’m sorry if you haven’t had the “talk” I don’t think you can call him on it. At a month it is just too early. My heart goes out to Ms. Annonymous hang in there girlfriend.

By the pictures of our day trip to IFly Orange is not my color! Big shout to my bud Travis and the crew of IFly who put you into a air tunnel to simulate a parachute jump. It is unbelievable and we are giving away a few passes to it in our “My Mom is the Bomb” giveaway all week.

Hi there,

I hope you’re Thursday is flying by without a hitch. By now you from listening to the show that I’m probably the one that most often puts his personal business on the air. It doesn’t happen without serious contemplating the pros and cons. Today coming in to work at 4:00 in the morning, I had one of these internal conversations. I had a great date last night and decided to share it with you on the air. I was pleasantly surprised that most of you sided with me on the topic of “Is it necessary to play games in relationships”. I say be yourself. If it is meant to be, it is meant to be. Alexa (who is doing a great job filling in for Maria) and Chunk think I gotta chill with the romance because it is too early. I feel that if I’m not “romantic” I’m not being myself. My mind works in a crazy, creative way and gets cool romantic ideas. Like last night, I made the Kung Pau Shrimp and decided to get some fortune cookies to complete the Chinese cuisine theme. Then I thought why not take out the old message inside the cookie and put in a personalized note. “You will be happy with a guy named Baltazar”.  I thought it would be hokey and cheesey. Then Alexa and Chunk jump my case! I’m sticking with the “not playing games” mentality.

Hey bring your “Friday” mentality to the show tomorrow. Comedian Jaime Kennedy is hanging with us, plus more Donna Summer tickets and Larry Sutton from People magazine with plenty to talk about this week’s scandal in Hollywood!

Let me start off by saying on behalf of Maria a big thank you for your calls and emails. Thank you Alexa for coming in on short notice and hanging with me this morning. Maria called me 20 minutes ago to let me know that “things are better than expected” with her father. Please keep your positive thoughts and prayers coming.

If I could just rewind to yesterday afternoon when Maria and I decided to hit our favorite restaurant the Old Ship for lunch. We were laughing it up for hours. Out went the diets and in came the garlic fries and beers! It reminded me of when we both started at Movin and the only people we knew were each other. That chemistry you hear on the air is not contrived or forced it is just natural. I was still laughing on the way home.

About 6:30 Maria called me with the horrible news about her father’s stroke. My heart just dropped. Maria is one tough customer so to hear her crying was heartbreaking. I wanted to jump through the phone and give her a hug. This is just like the line in the Alicia Keyes song ”Kiss me like you’ll never see me again”. We should never take for granted the people that are dear to us. Treat them like it is the last time you will ever see them. God Bless Maria and her family
