Conquering my Fear
Hey, I hope you had a nice weekend. I’m just fresh back from Disneyland and so happy to say that I’m no longer afraid of riding rollercoasters. This has been a constant fear for me since a bad incident back in the day at the Santa Cruz Beach boardwalk. Well on Friday after the show, my girl wanted to hit a few of the rides at Disney. As we walked through Disney, I felt my body get tense. Even as she said “You don’t have to ride it”, my inner voice kept telling me. “Be a Man, man up and just do it!” I saw her ride the Tower of Terror and there were kids under the age of ten riding it! I was like, now you have to ride it! Get over your fears! And that is what I did. I made the decision to ride the California Screamin ride. Five minutes after the ride was over, I was ecstatic! To me that is the biggest acheivement I have been able to pull off.
Speaking of achievements, this Sunday, I’m running my first half marathon (13 miles) in San Jose. Please email me if you or a friend are running the San Jose Rock n Roll half marathon. I already have the ice packs ready for my ankles after the race (and the beer..LOL)
Did you catch Chris Rock’s HBO special over the weekend? His take on Bush not giving a #$@ is hysterical! Watch it, it will replay later this week!
I was a little disapointed with Friday’s debate. It was pretty boring. But here’s a few things that stood out. John McCain came out like a cranky old man. I couldn’t he address Barack like a man and look him in the eye? I kept waiting for a knockout punch and it never came. I did learn a little more about their plans for the economy and like Chris Rock said to Larry King on Thursday, “no one knows better about being broke than a black man” LOL Next debate Thursday with Sarah Palin and Joe Biden! This one I hope will be a little more entertaining.
Thanks for checking out the blog! Have a great day!
