If I may quote a popular commercial “We need more Fridays!” . The kickoff to the weekend always rocks around here. I like to say it’s the most fun you can have without controlled substances. Okay seriously, it was great getting a chance to sit down and talk with Charlie Murphy. I’ve seen him on Chappelle’s show and in various movies and I caught his standup a couple of years ago but he is much mellower out of the the spotlight. I would hope he doesn’t take offense but I find him to have a sweet, soulful quality. I have been fascinated by tattoos ever since I was a little girl and that has not changed. I took a chance and asked Charlie about his and he confessed that he has 11 and gave me a personal tour. (They are all above the equator!) It was cool and kinda sexy. It’s personal moments like this with people that really put this job over the top for me!
I like the rest of you live for weekends and when it’s a holiday weekend…Bonus! (or lagniappe for those of you with roots in the Crescent City). The only thing is that you try to do so much that you end up in a daze by Monday night: bruised up, bone tired, hungover, etc sitting on the couch or in a chair wishing you didn’t have to go to work on Tuesday so you can recover from the weekend. I’m usually happy to get back to work for the rest and regimentation. Free time gets me into trouble. When your’re a kid your parents regulate your activity and keep you away from “too much”. As adults we don’t know the meaning of “too much”. We’re always having just one more…one more drink, one more rib, one more slice of pie, one more mile, one more game. That’s why I call it “holi-daze”. I’m not knocking it though because taking it easy is called a work day. So have fun, be safe and if you come back to work in the holi-daze, you better have a GREAT story about how you got that way! Peace.

Right name, wrong David! Way to go David Cook, now shave! I made it home just in time to catch the results and a little of George Michael’s “Praying for Time”. My girl made the comment that Randy Jackson’s red jacket made him look like a “theater usher” LOL
So I my boy JLove has given me the hip tip that Indiana Jones is off the hook and a must see. We were playing the “Indy” movie theme when Maria and I asked each other “what song would be the theme song for your life”. I like Maria’s “Every Woman”. Chunk has Afro Man’s “Because I got High” and me ….(and this is going to make me sound really manly) Wham’s “I’m Your Man”! You member? right..member. “If you gonna do it, do it right” (I told you this was going to make me look manly..lol) We’ll have to bring up that conversation some time soon. Man I’m in weekend mode already, tomorrow’s show is going to be so much fun! Charlie Murphy is coming in and we have more Sex in the City tx!
Big shout and thank you to Dennis Richmond from channel 2. He was, along with Mark Ibanez, a childhood idol. As a poor, latin kid growing up in Modesto, it was nice to see people of color shining on tv! Good luck Dennis, hittem straight!

Perez told us that this morning… he claims Steven Tyler is at the Dr. Drew rehab … who knows about the show or what have you … maybe he’s just broken up about having Liv move back in after getting dumped… or maybe he just loves the drugs
Coneheads The Sequel is coming to DVD

Ladies … are you ever creeped out at a bar and wish you had a stun-gun?

Well now you can!
The Pink Stinger packs 50,000 volts of power at your finger tips. Because it is an advanced stun gun, you do have the option of stun capabilities with a simple click of a switch.

Congratulations to Kristi Yamaguchi! She is the proud recipient of that mirror ball trophy from Dancing with the Stars. She’s only the second woman to win since the show went on the air and I say “Whoo-Hoo, Girl Power! Of course that meant my man Jason Taylor had to go home empty handed but I’m not crying for him because I see great things ahead for him off the football field. Can you say endorsement deals?
Tonight the David vs. David contest will be decided on American Idol. I’ve freely admitted that I haven’t been an avid watcher this season but I did watch the first half of the finale. From those performances, on the singing alone I say David Archuleta is the winner but many things go into the making of the American Idol like who’s going to be easiest to work with and the most marketable. We’ll find out what America (and the producers) think tonight.
Outside of Hell’s Kitchen this effectively ends my being held hostage by reality shows. I’m no fan of The Bachelorette (you already know this if you’re a big listener to the morning show) and I generally don’t get into So You Think You Can Dance. What am I going to do with those extra hours. I hope to get myself off the couch and find an outdoor hobby that will cause me to break a sweat (keep it clean!) . I’m open to suggestion- Anybody?
Tomorrow more great prizes: Tina Turner tickets, Charlie Murphy tickets (he’s at Cobb’s Comedy Club through the weekend) and of course more passes for our Sex and the City screening event. I’ll be there and I hope you are too, have a most excellent day!

Well, my prayers were finally answered last night when Jason Taylor popped his shirt open on Dancing with the Stars. It wasn’t enough to land him a perfect score from the judges but he was an “11″ in my book. Finger-licking good! Kristi Yamaguchi is the winner of this contest but she was my (and probably everyone else’s) odds on favorite to take the disco ball when this thing began. Her performances last night were flawless so unless America has lost its mind , she is the clear winner. Of course some of us women-folk blinded by the beauty could vote for Christian or Jason but even the hunk vote would be split.
Speaking of finales, tonight is the sing-off between David Archuleta and David Cook. I admit I haven’t been on the Idol bandwagon this season so I’m not as passionate as many of you are about tonight’s contest. I think this will proably be the closest vote they’ve ever had so I’m going to watch the proceedings this week. From the people I know and the listeners I’ve talked to, fans are divided right down the middle. I’m just waiting with a handful of limes because Baltazar and Mark Nieto have a tequila bet riding on this and whoever wins, I expect a shot!
Since I’m talking reality shows let me mention Hell’s Kitchen. I’m not a big fan of anyone this year but I can tell you that even though the girls are a better team…Meow, put the claws away. I’m tired of Roseann whining, Corey trying to use sex appeal to outwit the men (note to Corey: you’re not all that), and Jen trying to boss everybody. I’m not a Christina fan either but I give her props for being able to hang in there with the whole team against her. On the men’s side: Louross and Matt need to go bye-bye stat so I guess my favorites are Petrozza and Bobby. Bobby got on my nerves the first couple episodes but he’s stepped it up lately (plus he’s from Niagara Falls which is close to my hometown) and Petrozza just does the work and stays out of the line of fire. So if I had to choose it would come down to Bobby or Petrozza.
That’s all my TV talk. Tomorrow on the show is “Psychic Wednesday” so get your questions ready for Gary Spivey. We’ll have more chances for you to win those exclusive passes to our Sex and the City event (pre-party, screening and post party) and tickets to see my Idol : Tina Turner! I went home and was the Mayor of Slugville yesterday. I only got a little more closet organizing done so I have to go home and hit it hard and do my laundry before the holiday weekend. Thanks for reading and for listening - Ciao!

hahahaha … someone should start doing this in San Francisco … that would be sweet….btw thats in Chi Town aka Chicago … good stuff.

“I told Lindsay I don’t want her on the show right now. … Doing reality TV would almost be taking a step backward as far as her career goes,” Dina said in the May 26 issue of TV Guide. (Never mind that back in March, Lindsay was overheard telling friends that she wouldn’t be on the show.)
It’s an interesting statement, considering Dina told Radar’s Fresh Intelligence that reality is the new direction of entertainment. “Three years ago I would have said, ‘No way am I doing a reality show … but it’s just where entertainment is headed. I mean, even J.Lo has one these days.” -Dina Lohan
Uhhhh….what?!? For Reals?!?! If she could land a reality show now she WOULD … but she still looks good in a skirt still …
In other news, Boy George has a new job in the fashion industry … see below

Yes … that bald dude is Boy George and he’s slanging Tee Shirts next to the bootleg videos in the UK…..
I would make a joke but its not fun to make jokes about the homeless.
Worst Picture Ever … you can stop reading the blog now and not continue downward…….just saying…..

No joke … I kinda threw up a little bit when I saw this pic…
Speaking off older has beens , Fred Durst frontman of Limp Biskit is gonna pay for his trailer this month because he ended up on the finale of House … he served a beer … glad to see you’re moving up from sold out shows to 800$ a day talent fee…hahahahaha
Flavor of Love wrapped up its crackhead tour with a winner being announced… Thing 2!

Still Pregnant … and … well … hrmmm…. yeah … i dunno

chunk out … gonna go play video games … tell ya mamma to find me on xboxLIVE under the name “chunkachunk” and bring you “A” game!!!!!

I have been steadily at work trying to expand my circle and so far so good. Outside of work I had one friend (Patricia) thanks to Al’s sister. The two of us decided we need to get out more and expand our social network. Our goal: To have lots of friends by the end of the summer. She has a good friend (Shannon) that I met over the weekend. Patricia and I decided to form a wine club for women so we invited our women friends from work and wherever then pulled in a couple of strangers and now we have about a dozen cool girls to hang out with. We’re so happy! The reason I bring this up is to say friends are one of the many things that make life worth living so if you haven’t made time for yours lately (or made time to make any) do yourself a favor and connect or reconnect with someone that you share similar interests with. I know from a personal standpoint the Bay Area has been a bit lonely for me because I just went to work and went home. My job is social and I love meeting people but many times when I had free time I was at loose ends. Basically my work fooled me into thinking I had a social life. There’s nothing wrong with having friends at work but you need some outside too. Don’t get me wrong, one of my mantras is “I’m an adult, I can amuse myself” but there is no substitute for human connection on an intimate level. Having friends to laugh and talk with is priceless, especially when the world gets you down. We are all busy people but again I urge you to call some girlfriends (or guys call your boys) and plan an outing together. You’ll find yourself refreshed from the experience.
I laughed so much yesterday by the time I got home my face was numb. Between the wine club then meeting Chunk at Tommy T’s for Anjelah Johnson…Good Lawd! That girl is HILARIOUS! She sold out SEVEN shows at Tommy T’s so I’m sure she’ll back. If you haven’t seen her, don’t miss her next time around.
I’m so excited about our Sex and the City shindig. Good Luck winning tickets to the screening, but remember the pre- and post parties are open to the public so you can grab some friends and join us for those and check out the film on your own. Just a thought. Regardless I expect May 30th is going to bring sold out theaters filled with beautiful women dressed to the nines all across the country!
Alright, I started organizing my closet over the weekend and I’m nowhere near finished. Ugh! Can I tell you how much I hate doing stuff like this?! I had to because everytime I get dressed it looks like my closet exploded because I can’t find anything. Anyway, I’m off to make another dent in this project. Adios!

What’s the dealio? Hope you had a fun weekend! You are going to think I’m crazy but I played golf in the 100 degree heat. Estoy loco! The funniest thing happens when I’m hanging with my buddies. This last weekend my boy Chris and George were trying to make me miss a putt by cracking on my Jamba Juice theme song. You know..Jamb..Jamb…..Jamb..dahh..dahhh Jamba (like Ice Ice Baby) It came out of nowhere and actually threw me off. LOL So bad it is actually good! LOL
You should see Maria’s face when I surprise her with my sillines. Estoy loco! I don’t know how she puts up with it.
We were chatting up the Sex in the City premiere and Maria opened up and said she related to “Carrie” the most of all the Sex in the City girls. Hmmm as a guy I play the “which one do I find the hottest” Hmmm, I go back and forth Carrie or Charlotte. Samantha is too wild and Miranda too uptight. Carrie drives me crazy though, too hung up on Mr.Big. Charlotte is a little preppy but there is something about bringing out “La Loca” in her! LOL
Shout outs from the weekend. To my new golf buddy John from Dublin! To the peeps who sat with me in the balcony at Tommy T’s for the 9:30 Anjelah Johnson show! Thanks for tolerating my laugh! LOL
I’ll talk to you in la manana!
