Back in the Bay!
I like to go away but I love to come home. Memorial Day Weekend was a blast! Like the rest of you I ate too much, drank too much and generally misbehaved (in the good-fun way, not the- had to get bailed out of jail- kind of way). Also like the rest of you, I’m tired today. (Not a good place to be when your job is to wake people and keep them that way until they make it through their commute.) However, looking forward it’s only four days to the Sex and the City Pre-party, Premiere and Post-party. I can’t wait! I’m thinking I’m going to get really festive and shop for something creative.
I hear there was rain in the city this weekend which is hard for me to believe. I missed it because I was out of town but I would have liked to been here just to see it. Hopefully it got wet enough around the Bay Area to keep anymore wildfires from happening.
I feel like it’s the Writer’s Strike part two. All the shows I watch regularly have had their season ending (or in some cases series ending) finales. I still have some stuff on DVR that I haven’t got to yet, so I’ll watch that stuff. If I stay active it should hold me for a couple/three weeks until some summer replacement shows I like kick in. The strike put a delay on some of that stuff though so I don’t know. The only thing on my plate tonight is Hell’s Kitchen. Hmm! Sounds like it’s time for a trip to the bookstore. BTW: I’m reading “Do You :12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success” by Russell Simmons. I’m a self-help book junkie (they bring me back to the basics when things get crazy) and I’m enjoying this. It doesn’t really break any new ground but the presentation, his voice is refreshing. It gives me insight to why his marriage possibly broke up but that’s speculation on my part. Anyway, I like to alternate my summer reads between fiction and non-fiction so I’m due for a good, trashy novel. I can’t wait. I’m open to suggestions to if you would be so kind as to e-mail them.
Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Hopefully I can take a nap this afternoon. I need one but when it’s pretty like this I usually end up staying up the whole day. I wish it was raining today. Rain is perfect for naps, you don’t have to feel guilty like you should be outside doing something because it’s so nice. Guilty or not, today I have a date with the Sandman and I hope he keeps it. Ciao!
