I can’t wait until tonight’s 8-minute dating event! I won’t be there to date but to watch and offer support.  Let me throw about a bit of advice “more cheese, less whine”. By that I mean, more time smiling and enjoying the positive and less time going to negative town . I bring this up because having been single and a radio host for the greater part of my life I know for a fact that attitude is what shapes these events. Just because you don’t meet your soulmate doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time. If you go there with a goal (for example: I’m going to make one new friend or I’m going to have a great time no matter what) you will achieve it so make it a positive one. By the same token if you leave the house expecting not to like anyone, you won’t. You also should manage your expectations. It’s great if you meet a man that looks like Brad Pitt and acts like George Clooney (or a woman that looks like Halle Berry and acts like Drew Barrymore) but I wouldn’t make that a goal.  That being said put on an outfit you are comfortable in and work it! I’ll see you tonight.

I am officially “Even Steven” (at least for the day). Some friends invited me to the Giants game yesterday but I couldn’t go because I promised to help Baltazar judge the Tri-Valley High School Improv Competition at Tommy T’s last night.  I was sorry I had to miss out but I had a great time at the contest. Anyway, yesterday as I’m driving to Pleasanton my friend Patricia calls and says she has an extra ticket to tonight’s game. Yee-hah! All bets are on!

I love this weather, it is beautiful! Of course I don’t have air conditioning so I may be singing a different tune by the end of the week. If all else fails I’ll put my faith in frozen beverages…margaritas, daiquiri’s etc. I say it’s high time to bring back the pina colada.

I’m so excited Maria is coming over to the “Casa De Baltazar” tonight. We are judging the Tri Valley High School Improv Tournament at Tommy T’s in Pleasanton. Maria has never been over to my crib, believe me it is no MTV Cribs episode so I will spare you from the “this is where the magic happens” line. I’m a bit of a neat freak without being anal about it. I’m sure Maria will give you the “behind the scenes” tomorrow morning.

We had so many things going on today, I didn’t get a chance to catch my breath until 9 with the show nearly over. Did you catch the Love Trap? Melinda needs to stop thinking and hyper analyzing about the Bachelor party for her now husband Drew. (catch podcast) Maria breaks out into her Phoebe stripper/ I’m sorry, her exotic dancer routine. Mark Nieto and I are convinced Maria has worked in some kind of “adult” type occupation. She is too good in her “naughty” voice. LOL

At least I think it is at Tommy T’s and if the rest of their menu is any indication I’m going to be a lucky girl! There are many things I like about the area, the Taco Tuesday tradition is just one of them. Actually, I’ve never done Taco Tuesday myself, only read and heard about it but I support it. Enough about the menu, Baltazar and I are headed out there to judge the Tri-Valley High School Comedy Contest.  Who knows, we may discover some of the nation’s future comedy stars!

I was a guy last night and the men on the show applauded my skills. I actually watched three different shows in a one hour time span thanks to a remote and the miracle of technology. I had to check out my men: Jason Taylor (Dancing with the Stars) and Ace Young (celebrity guest victim) on Bones and of course I had to see Britney’s return to How I Met Your Mother. Thank God for counter-programming!

Interesting bad dating stories this morning. I can relate. I’ve got plenty, heck I’ve got dating shrapnel that can’t be removed. It doesn’t affect my performance though. (Smile)

Today’s Love Trap brought up some interesting questions that may come up sometime like “Did you support or curtail a bachelor/bachelorette party for your significant other?” “Is your mate allowed to go to strip clubs/watch porn etc?” Why or Why Not? How far should you trust your mate? For example do you snoop and how much? Just some thoughts.  I’m thinking out loud because I’m planning a Ladies Room for tomorrow.

That’s what our Hornblower Mother’s Day cruise was on Saturday.  It was so nice to meet so many people that love our show! You guys know the features better than I do. I had such a good time I forgot I was supposed to be working!

I forgot to mention this on the show today but in my defense we are running promos for it: tonight Ace Young is the guest star on Bones! I am going to watch, I confess. I also know I’m not the only one because I have gotten your e-mails. When I bring it up make sure you call in tomorrow. Don’t be scared, we’re all allowed a guilty pleasure.

Boy am I tired today. It was a whirlwind weekend starting with the baseball game on Friday! Let me just say again “I LOVE AT&T PARK!”, the food, the views…now if we could get some hot bats going on the Giants we would be the total package!

Hey I hope you enjoyed your Mother’s Day weekend as much as I did. Here our some of my highlights. Friday night at Mexican Heritage night with the SF Giants was off the hook. We had so much fun behind centerfield that we almost forgot there was a game going on. LOL

Saturday I felt like a rock star on board the Hornblower Mother’s day cruise! People usually tell us they listen to the show but when they actually quote conversations and events it leaves us feeling extra special. Now the funny thing about this day is that another big event was happening behind the scenes. My new girl was introducing me to her mom for the first time. Who is the new girl? You ask..Hmmm…I’ll leak that out in due time. LOL..and keep you in suspense! LOL (no it is not JLove! Stop with those JLove references!) Alright back to meeting the mom. Whew! It went pretty well! We actually ended up hanging with Maria and the gang all afternoon. (and yes Maria did gving me a resounding thumbs up)

I’m going to fast forward into Mother’s Day because I’m being summoned to go “record”. My mami is my first love and I had the pleasure of surprising her by flying down to Ontario to see her this weekend. No tamales, no Mexican goodies for me. I wanted her to enjoy the day all to herself. (although I did put an order in..LOL)  Oh, oh I reall have to run…..to be continued
