Let me start off by saying on behalf of Maria a big thank you for your calls and emails. Thank you Alexa for coming in on short notice and hanging with me this morning. Maria called me 20 minutes ago to let me know that “things are better than expected” with her father. Please keep your positive thoughts and prayers coming.

If I could just rewind to yesterday afternoon when Maria and I decided to hit our favorite restaurant the Old Ship for lunch. We were laughing it up for hours. Out went the diets and in came the garlic fries and beers! It reminded me of when we both started at Movin and the only people we knew were each other. That chemistry you hear on the air is not contrived or forced it is just natural. I was still laughing on the way home.

About 6:30 Maria called me with the horrible news about her father’s stroke. My heart just dropped. Maria is one tough customer so to hear her crying was heartbreaking. I wanted to jump through the phone and give her a hug. This is just like the line in the Alicia Keyes song ”Kiss me like you’ll never see me again”. We should never take for granted the people that are dear to us. Treat them like it is the last time you will ever see them. God Bless Maria and her family

I hope you had a nice weekend. You should of seen Maria around 5 c’lock this morning. She had the “I had one hell of a weekend” look. LOL  I wasn’t too far behind, it was a hella good weekend for me too! I took a lady friend out to golf (No! Not JLove..LOL), got in on the one day sale at Macys! (yeah, we like the shopping!) Oh, oh, I hear JLove’s voice in the hallway. LOL

I used to be a opposed to have a girlfriend or (when I was married) wife play golf with me. After all it was “my” time and I really believed I didn’t have the patience to teach someone. Now my mind set has completely changed about this topic. I guess it was watching my buddies enjoy the company of their girlfriends out on the golf course that made me “flip the script”. It also helps if you are sipping a nice “cold beverage” together. LOL

I think playing golf together as a couple is fun. My next thing is to cook together with someone special. I know what you are thinking, “you’ve never done that”?  Yeah, my ex wife couldn’t stand being in the kitchen with me at the same time. I have always thought that cooking together was so freakin sexy. Remember that scene from the movie “Wall Street”, when Charlie Sheen and Daryl Hannah are making the pasta and then end up in bed? That’s hot!

First and foremost let me thank any and everyone who had anything to do with my week-and-a-half birthday celebration.  From my girl Alexa with the “slice of exotic chocolate cake a day” to my girl Patricia with “all the beer I could drink” at the baseball game last week. My co-workers Dom, Art, Lori, Chunk, Cat, Arlene and of course Baltazar and my birthday twin Kim for the spectacular lunch we had last week.  Thanks for all the birthday e-mails and shout outs etc and finally to the folks at Lux on Friday. To everyone who came out especially Christine and Faheem (Congrats y’all!) , D.J. X-Ray keeping it hot, Rome for hooking up the VIP and getting Sergio and Phil to come along.  Chunk, Beth and da Posse,Ross for just being Ross ( and a fantastic baker!) , Cassie and Cat. Thanks to Cecilia and Edder for all your help. If I forgot to mention anyone blame it on the booze and the baked goods…it doesn’t mean that I don’t love you .

Our cooking discussion was interesting….If someone said they cooked for you but you found out later that they had bought the meal from the store…would you be upset? The No’s said so because they thought it was cool the person went to the trouble to try and impress you the Yes’s said they would be upset because if the person lied about this, what else are they lying about?
